MUA Mosaic Bronzer in Natural Glow

It's got to be said I always used to shy away from bronzers. The thought of sweeping an orange toned powder over my cheeks made me shudder. Pale girl problems. Then I discovered contouring, cheekbones without trying. Even then I still struggled to find the right one for me. Then I picked this offering from MUA on a whim and I've never had the urge to experiment with anything else for a little while now.

MUA's Mosaic Blusher in Shade 1 Natural Glow, now part of my everyday make up routine. I have become a sucker for a mosaic shaped product. You can get so many different options depending where you sweep the brush. I find it has a lighter half and a darker half to it. All swirled together though gives me the perfect all over bronze or can be built up to get a cracking contour, if I do say so myself. (Remember contouring takes a very skilled person to perfect it - I'm joking but it can be tricky)!

I have been really enjoying having a natural dewy type glow to my base just lately and this product adds to it ever so easily. It does contain a shimmer of glitter but it's ever so faint, not leaving you looking like a disco ball. I think now that matte bronzers is where I was going wrong. This works really well on my pale complexion so I imagine the shade would work on any skin tone. You really can build it up if it looks like it might be a little too light for you. At £2.50 I'm really impressed with this product and it's fast becoming part of my summer essentials.

Time For An Update

I can't imagine many of you have noticed I've gone AWOL for the best part of two months. How can I put this now? I just didn't feel like blogging. Uninspired springs to mind. Plus I've just had a lot going on and sometimes I can get a little sidetracked in the whirlwind that is blogging. I want to put it out there I love blogging though. So I hereby swear that I will post regularly! We might as well turn this into a bit of a lifestyle post and have a look at what I've been up to though.

First off back in April it was my 19th birthday. You might recognise the playsuit I'm wearing in this birthday celebrations picture from a wishlist I posted a while back. I managed to snap it up in the sale. All round my birthday was fab, thought I might of woke up with a few hungover regrets.

Around the start of May I got to see The Kooks live. They're one of them bands I can stick on and have an instant happy mood. Let's just say they were pretty damn good, go and see them if you can!

Now this has got to be one of the highlights of my life (and I'm not even being exaggerative). At the end of May I made my way down to London to pay Finsbury Park a little visit. Only for Arctic Monkeys, Tame Impala, Miles Kane and Royal Blood. I do love a good gig and this one didn't fail to impress. If you get chance to catch Royal Blood at a local small venue before they get massive then definitely do it. Miles Kane never lets a girl down and warms the crowd up massively. Tame Impala calmed us down a little with their psychedelic tunes though. Then the main men took to the stage and were just brilliant, again. The only downside was some little runt peeing up my leg, not cool guys.

I MADE A DEPOP ACCOUNT! Finally! You can find me @whatlaurensays. I've got loads up for sale clothes, shoes, beauty bits and bobs and other accessories. Everything is new or without tags or just worn no more than twice! Check it out, there's loads of lovely summer pieces.

Another little thing to mention.. I'm moving house, again. I guess we've never got settled here and it's not very convenient for getting to places. So who knows expect home hauls, room tours and storage ideas.

Speaking of upcoming blog features I'm thinking of doing a festival series, especially with Glastonbury kicking off next weekend. I've become a bit of a pro as to what to pack for festivals/gigs so let me know in the comments what you think of me running the series? I'm definitely going to feature more lifestyle posts and I've been dying to venture into outfit posts but I haven't felt quite brave enough just yet.

Holiday Wishlist

#
A couple of days of the sun making an appearance has left me dreaming of getting on that plane in September and whacking on the factor 30 (C'mon I burn easy). Ever since I booked my holiday a few months back I've found myself spending hours trailing every fashion site you can think of in search of holiday staples and a few out there items without breaking the bank too much.

  • Love via Topshop Waffle Shirt Dress (£28) - Just lately I have been adoring green pieces for the wardrobe, especially mint green. This pastel dress is simple but can be more dressed up with accessories and what not.
  • Forever 21 Round Sunglasses (£4.90) - I just really like the shapes of these sunglasses and the ombre colour effect of the lens. Not a bad price either.
  • Whistles via ASOS Rivington Chain Clutch (£75) - I own a lot of monochrome outfits so I thought this gorgeous clutch would add a pop of colour to any outfit. A little pricey but it is real leather. And who doesn't love a bit of Whistles in their life?
  • H&M Patterned Playsuit (£12.99) - As a sucker for a patterned piece I fell for this playsuit, especially at such an inexpensive price. The crossover thin straps are simple but a little statement at the same time.
  • River Island Blue Animal Print Bikini Top (£16) - Leopard print can be done so very wrong at times, especially when it can look a little tacky. But RI are bang on with this bikini. It comes with removable straps too, avoiding awkward tan lines.
  • River Island Blue Animal Print Bikini Bottoms (£12) - High waisted bottoms are what I've been searching everywhere for as I find it to be the most flattering style.
  • NEXT Block Sandal in Rust (£32) - The hunt for the perfect heeled sandals is over as I have been won over ever so easily. Tan shoes I tend to find can be worn with pretty much everything, the new black maybe? No, okay.

Avon Kiss n Go Lipstick (Limited Edition)

Color Trend is probably the most affordable range that Avon have to offer but that doesn't mean to say the quality isn't up to scratch. Think all the shade ranges you could possibly imagine with a low price tag. If you're looking for a certain shade whether it be a nail polish or eye shadow it can probably be found amongst the Color Trend range. The product in the spotlight today though is something Limited Edition in a shape of a pretty looking lipstick.

When the words limited edition are flashed about you can expect fancy packaging and that's what you get with this lipstick. Cute hearts to match the embossed hearts of the actual product. Avon have released four new shades of the Kiss n Go lipstick as limited edition. I picked up the shade 'Smoochable' and it's the shade of red I've been after for a while. It did look more of a pink shade in the brochure and on the online shop so do bare that in mind when ordering like with anything you can't physically hold and swatch away with on the back of your hand. Nonetheless I've discovered something brilliant without even trying to..

I picked 'Smoochable' up on a whim but what a whim that was. I've mentioned before that I'm very pale so light shades make me look silly and bright lipsticks mean I resemble a circus act. I'm always after different red lip products that suit me but it's a hard job. However, this one from Avon is just what I needed without knowing. It has a velvet finish to it and doesn't dry the lips out. Priced at £3.75 (currently on sale) it doesn't have the most brilliant staying power but a quick top up never hurt anyone, right? I'd describe this as a very light red with slight pink tones. I'm definitely going to invest in to other lip products from Avon because you can't go wrong with the price really.

You can buy the limited edition shades HERE
Have you tried anything from Avon recently that's worth a mention?

Primark Haul #2

Looking back on the goals I set myself for this year I've failed a little bit on the blogging side of things last month. I've been working a lot and signing up to Netflix was never going to end well because I am now addicted to Gossip Girl. Yes, I'm blaming Chuck Bass for my infrequent posts. April I always feel like the year just gets better though, the sun comes out more, Easter and my birthday is towards the end of the month. Sticking with the positive attitude towards this next month I'm going to show that in my blog posts.
Now I've finished with that little update let's have a see to as what I've been buying from Primark..

I am obsessed with the colour green at the moment and pastel shades are bigger than ever for SS14 so I couldn't turn these down for just £4. I love the gold embellishment especially.

If I'm honest with you I've never been one that has a massive jewellery collection. This might be down to my love for patterned clothes and I'm not one for overdressing either. I loved this statement necklace for £3 though. Another mint green piece for the Spring/Summer wardrobe.

Primark's jeans are great value for money. It's a given they don't last forever at £11 but they have an amazing selection available. My favourites are there super soft skinny jeans (something along those lines anyway). It's in the name that they really are super soft but they're a thin material to which may be a con to some but I hate really thick jeans as I find them to be too stiff.

It's rare I find a nice item for the wardrobe in the sale rails in Primark but it looked like I caught this dress at a good time recently. It was £5 down from £13 and they had a whole rail with a full size range. I think the colour is perfect for the upcoming warmer months and I particularly like the gingham detailing. We all know I'm sold when there's a collar added as well.

I am a satchel girl through and through. I just find it to be my favourite style of bag which is why I have quite a collection of them growing. This mini version was just £6 and has got plenty of use in the short time I've had it. The bag itself has a sort of jacquard scratched effect too it which I really like.

I liked it so much I went back to Primark to pick it up in this lovely coral shade. I desperately need some colour injecting into my wardrobe and this will certainly help to the cause.

Has anyone picked anything nice in Primark recently?
